In today’s news, European Union supports food assistance in Afghanistan, Nobel laureate urges mask wearing, Netherlands to prohibit single-use plastics, Australian researchers improve wastewater sanitizing process, police officer saves girl from danger in United States, global shift away from meat seen amid pandemic, and India’s Nagaland State ends dog meat trade.

European Union provides humanitarian relief to Afghanistan.

The European Union, a Shining World Leadership Award for Peace recipient, and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Unconditional World Care and True Caring laureate, contributed €3.6 million to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to provide vital assistance to vulnerable groups in Afghanistan, especially during the COVID-19 global pandemic. The funding will be used by WFP to distribute food aid to almost 470,000 displaced persons and more than 150,000 malnourished children. It will also help expectant and nursing mothers in remote areas through food and nutrition assistance programs. Moreover, the EU has made an additional contribution of €500,000 to WFP, which will be used to replace decades-old vehicles with four new all-terrain trucks needed for food delivery. Our respectful thanks, European Union and the World Food Programme! Divine blessings. May the fine people of Afghanistan be graced with many prosperous tomorrows as global citizens work together for a better life for all, in Heaven’s radiant gaze.

Nobel laureate speaks out for face masks.

Sir Venki Ramakrishnan, Nobel Prize-winning biologist and President of the London, United Kingdom-based Royal Society, has called for social enforcement of the wearing of face masks to protect against transmission of COVID-19. The Royal Society is the world’s oldest national scientific institute. Sir Venki Ramakrishnan recently referred to two new reports confirming the effectiveness of face coverings for safeguarding public health. As a result, he called for it to be considered an anti-social act not to wear a mask. He said, “If all of us wear one, we protect each other and thereby ourselves, reducing transmission. We lower the chances of future surges and lockdowns, which are economically and psychologically disruptive, and we increase the chance of eliminating the virus. Not doing so increases the risk for everyone.” Our sincere appreciation, Sir Venki Ramakrishnan, for your wise words. In Celestial compassion, may we all promote public well-being by taking all safety precautions necessary as we pray for brighter days.

Up next, Netherlands to prohibit disposable plastics. We’ll take a moment to thank drone pilots who remotely fly vehicles for aerial photography, surveying, delivering medical supplies and more. Please stay for more meaningful news on Supreme Master Television.

Hi energetic friends, I am Tony the vegan Tufted Coquette Hummingbird! Want to look like a movie star? Adopt a vegan diet, and look like a million bucks! I’ll tell you a little secret. Your brain can stay healthier if you keep your mind stimulated and engage it with activity. Studies have demonstrated that brain exercises can help elders stay sharp for up to 10 years more. Sudoku puzzles are an example of an entertaining exercise for the brain. It utilizes numbers as markers, and involves logic, but not math or calculations. Thank you for your attention, and love you so much for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world! Now, the weather around the globe.

The Netherlands to prohibit single-use plastics.

Starting July 2021, the Netherlands will put into effect a ban on many disposable plastic items such as straws, stirrers, cutlery and plastic plates. In addition, there will be enhanced recycling methods for plastic products and improved information about reusable alternatives. Other eco-steps that the Dutch government has already taken include prohibiting the giving out of free plastic shopping bags since 2016. The Netherlands government is a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion and Humanitarianism recipient and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Earth Guardian and Animal Protection laureate. Kudos, the Netherlands, on helping to ensure an environmentally conscious future. May we soon greet a pristine planet with flourishing land and crystal clear oceans, in God’s love.

Engineers develop new method to clean wastewater.

Researchers from the University of Sydney’s School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in Australia have developed a technique of cleaning heavily contaminated wastewater that uses an electrochemical oxidation process. Special electrodes and electricity are utilized to oxidize harmful pollutants and convert them into safe gases, minerals or ions. This method could be employed by pharmaceutical manufacturers, pulp and paper mills, wastewater treatment plants and more. The team will next focus their study on specific pollutants and on scaling up the procedure. Our accolades and appreciation, engineers from the University of Sydney, for your efforts to keep our water safe. In the goodness of Providence, we wish you much success in your endeavor, as we move toward greener ways of living on our cherished Earth.

Police officer saves young girl’s life.

Officer Tom Cercek from Walton Hills Police Department in Bedford, Ohio, United States, recently rescued an eight-year-old girl who had become separated from her family and stranded on a ledge due to a flash flood at the Bridal Veil Falls in Bedford. Officer Cercek lowered a rope to the girl, and was able to pull her up to safety. The whole rescue was filmed by the officer’s body camera, with the frightened young girl saying after she was saved, “Thank you! Thank you so much!” We are so happy to hear the girl is fine. Our gratefulness, Officer Tom Cercek, for your quick-thinking actions, and God bless you both. May Heaven always watch over us and especially all those serving and protecting the people of our communities, in the love of the Divine.

Up next on Noteworthy News, global shift away from meat seen amid pandemic. We pause now to enjoy a popular form of folk singing from north-central China called Hua’er, a UNESCO-inscribed Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. We’ll return with more outstanding news on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News - Admirable News for a Laudable World.

Pandemic accelerates global shift to plant-based food.

United States-based climate news editorial digest Bloomberg Green describes the downward trend of meat consumption since the COVID-19 outbreak. In the article, “Pandemic to Spark Biggest Retreat for Meat Eating in Decades,” the editorial noted that the United Nations has forecasted a nearly 3% drop in per-capita meat consumption in 2020, which is the lowest in nine years, and represents the largest reduction since at least 2000. Economic hardships, restaurant shutdowns, supply disruptions, greater distrust in animal products as well as increasing concerns over animal welfare, the environment and food safety have lead citizens around the globe to reduce meat eating. Many thanks for the insightful report, Bloomberg Green. May humanity quickly awaken and realize that survival and true well-being can only be found in a kind vegan world, in Heaven’s mercy,

India’s Nagaland State ends dog meat trade.

In a landmark decision, the government of India’s northeastern state of Nagaland has announced a ban on the import, trade and sale of live canines and dog meat. The ruling came after Member of Parliament the Honorable Maneka Gandhi, a Shining World Compassion Award recipient, made an urgent public appeal to the government to end the inhumane industry, which elicited support from over 125,000 people. Having campaigned for the ban for years, the Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations, People For Animals and Humane Society International (HSI)/India, welcomed the historic victory for canines. HSI is a Shining World Compassion Award recipient and a Shining World Protection Award laureate. According to HSI/India, the lives of an estimated 30,000 dogs per year will be saved. Our heartfelt gratitude and Heaven’s blessings, Nagaland government, for your wise and benevolent decision. Our earnest thanks, the Honorable Maneka Gandhi, Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations, People For Animals and Humane Society International/India, for your enduring noble efforts. In Divine omniscience, may every government implement laws to safeguard our precious animal co-inhabitants so our fellow Earthlings can live in peace and happiness. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Gratefully present the Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion to the Nagaland State government, with high salute, heartfelt gratitude and best regards. May Heavens shield you all in Divine protection.”

One joke daily, keeps everyone happy, this is for you especially. It’s entitled “Computer Excuse.”

“There is this guy next door, I don’t know why, but he always asks me to go and help him with some computer problem.”

“I think there is no problem with the computer. The problem is he likes you and makes excuses.”

“I think you are right.”

“When he sees you, do his eyes look dreamy and does he talk to you always smiling away?”

“How come you know so clearly?”

“That’s what happened to my husband before we were married.”

And now we have a heartline from Wanwilai Ruggurndee in Germany:

Dear Master, Thank You for giving me my life with two lovely guinea pigs; since I have been with them, everything in my life has become more joyful. I get understanding and help everywhere. I adopted Valentina because she was abandoned in the forest; she was just a little baby. Since being with me, she has released all the emotional blockages within me. She tells me she came to help me with Supreme Master TV work, and Katharina said she came into my life to release all my negative energies so that I can do Supreme Master TV work easier. She said she has a big mission, but she doesn't know what it is yet! :) This is Valentina and Katharina. Wanwilai Ruggurndee from Germany

Kind Wanwilai, Thank you for writing and sharing this cute photo of your beautiful guinea pig companions, Valentina and Katherina.

Supreme Master Ching Hai has a message for you: “Blessed Wanwilai, thank you for giving Valentina and Katherina a loving home. Enjoy your precious time together. That you can so easily communicate with them reflects your earnest devotion to animals. In the Mighty Heavens’ grace, may you and the remarkable German people prosper and grow in peace and harmony. A big group hug to all three of you with all love.”

We welcome your heartlines, stories and or cute, loving animal clips. Please send them via SupremeMasterTV.com/heartline
