In today’s news, world leaders cooperate to boost immunization for underprivileged countries, local government turns hotel into homeless shelter in Canada, organic seaweed production expands in The Netherlands, Kenya takes steps to safeguard forests, Uruguayan photographer recognized for shedding light on indigenous conservationists, tofu demand soars in United States, and Chinese city bans hunting.

Virtual world summit pledges historic amount to provide equitable vaccine access.

The Global Vaccine Summit, hosted by British Prime Minister His Excellency Boris Johnson, raised an unprecedented US$8.8 billion for vaccinations to help protect the most vulnerable countries from infectious diseases. The contributions were made by 32 governments and 12 companies and organizations to Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance, founded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a Shining World Compassion Award recipient. This recent funding will help to immunize 300 million children from major deadly diseases by 2025. Also, another US$567 million was raised towards a global financing mechanism to ensure fair access to a COVID-19 vaccine once it becomes available. Our immense gratitude, Your Excellency Boris Johnson, all summit participants, and Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance. May our global community continue its earnest cooperation to protect human lives, in God’s grace.

Canadian province buys hotel to assist people living without homes.

The government of British Columbia in Canada has paid approximately US$13.4 million for the Comfort Inn Hotel in the city of Victoria, to provide safe accommodation to homeless people who had been living in tent cities during the coronavirus pandemic. The hotel, which has 65 rooms available, is being managed by Our Place Society, a local community center serving disadvantaged individuals. Our Place Society has joined with the government assistance agency BC Housing to offer the occupants medical services, meals and storage facilities. The province plans eventually to use the Comfort Inn for affordable housing and is also leasing other hotels for those in need. Thank you, British Columbia, BC Housing, and Our Place Society. May all people have safe and comfortable homes, in the loving shelter of the Providence.

Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Is very touched by this caring action, and in much gratitude, present the government of British Columbia a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion, with high salute, best wishes and praises. May the Heavens continue to protect you and your peace-loving citizens at all times.”

Up next, organic seaweed production expands in The Netherlands. We now pause to thank the innovative toy designers, who think of what would make kids happy that’s also safe for them to play with. When we return, more good news ahead, here on Supreme Master Television!

Hi energetic friends, I am Ming Ming the vegan Panda! What’s the one superpower we can all acquire? It’s vegan power! Let’s all be plant-strong superheroes for our world. Today I’d like to share a tip from Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Your shower ‘wet room’ doesn’t have to be so wet as it makes humidity and extra time to clean/dry. Just buy a ready-made bathtub the size that suits its space, place it under the water tap and voila! you have a bathtub to relax in / shower sit-in. It’s quick to clean and the water can be saved for flushing or garden plants, and in case you can’t or don’t want to go out, such as in pandemic, you can wash your big blankets in the bathtub if no big washing machine available. Take care and protect your precious self. Much love!” We love You, too, Supreme Master Ching Hai, and much appreciation for this practical tip! Thank you for your attention and love you so much for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world! Now, the weather around the globe.

Dutch seaweed company expands production.

Organic seaweed cultivation enterprise Zeewaar, founded in 2013 by Rebecca Wiering from the Netherlands and Jennifer Breaton from the United States, has expanded its seaweed production in the North Sea by 500% in seven years. Nourished by sunlight and natural nutrients, the seaweed forms a mutually beneficial relationship with fish and other marine life. Zeewaar’s rapid expansion is attributed to European citizens’growing awareness of seaweed’s impressive nutritional and environmental benefits. Meanwhile, Ms. Wiering expects that within 13 years, the product will be commonplace in Europe. In fact, the Aloha Beach restaurant, located a few kilometers from the seaweed farm, already offers a tasty seaweed-based vegan burger. Such gladdening news, Jennifer Breaton, Rebecca Wiering and Zeewaar. May seaweed and other vegan delights from Nature become the norm as we move into a glorious and Divinely blessed plant-based era.

Kenya takes measures to protect forests.

Kenya, a Shining World Leadership Award for Protection laureate, has prohibited single-use plastics in its forests which cover 4 million hectares that are managed by national or county governments as well as communities. Guidelines have been released for citizens to better understand and follow the new law, which forbids plastic water bottles and cutlery, snack wrappers, etc., and promotes the use of reusable containers instead. According to Kenyan law, those found disposing of waste material in the forest reserves will be fined up to US$30,000 and/or receive a jail sentence of as much as 10 years. Many thanks, Kenya, for your responsible actions. In Celestial peace, may your natural lands continue to be a beautiful haven for all the beings residing there.

Photos of indigenous activists win top prize.

Pablo Albarenga from Uruguay won this year’s prestigious Sony World Photography Awards - Photographer of the Year for his series titled “Seeds of Resistance.” The mesmerizing photographs were taken from above and show portraits of environmental activists paired with their cherished homelands that they are working to save. The pictures appear to symbolize how the activists are willing to lay down their lives for their sacred lands, where their ancestors have lived for hundreds of generations. Mr. Albarenga noted after the win that the people in the photos are not just trying to protect their own future, but the future of all. Congratulations and thank you, brilliant Pablo Albarenga, for sharing your creative talents. We pray that the world’s indigenous people, their homes and Mother Earth will always be respected, in Heaven’s mercy.

Coming up, shift away from animal protein drives tofu demand in United States. We’ll take a quick step into the garden to watch the butterflies’ graceful dances and bright colors. You’re watching Noteworthy News on Supreme Master Television Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Heart-warming News for a Reassuring World.

Tofu’s popularity soars in the United States.

According to US data collecting company Nielsen, sales of tofu in the country for the month of March this year increased 66.7% compared to the same four-week period in 2019. Korea-based food manufacturer Pulmuone, which is responsible for 78% of US tofu sales, noted that three of its US plants have been operating six days a week, and the company also had to import tofu from Korea to meet the high demand. The sales have been driven by concerns about coronavirus outbreaks at meat-packing plants, and awareness of health benefits associated with the affordable product, including lower rates of cardiovascular disease and cancer. Fantastic news, United States citizens. May such clean, wholesome and versatile plant- based proteins boost the public’s confidence about choosing the vegan way, in Divine wisdom.

Chinese city bans hunting.

The Tianjin Municipality of northeastern China recently prohibited the hunting of wildlife in its administrative area for a period of five years. The move is part of a nationwide movement to stop the trade and consumption of wild animals in order to protect both the animals and also human health. Previously, hunting was not allowed in certain areas and during specified times of the year, but now the ban is in effect throughout the entire city for the whole of the year. Those not adhering to the new laws will face criminal penalties, and can be charged even if they did not catch any animal. Way to go, Tianjin Municipality, on your new humane law. In Heaven’s compassion, we pray that soon every region of the world will follow your noble example so that all love-filled animals may live in peace.

Here comes the joke of the day, laugh it or not. It’s entitled “Plausible Story.”

When Daphney phoned her employee to find out why she hadn’t come to the office yet, she expected to hear a regular story about how sick she was... Instead, her excuse was pretty plausible: “When I was driving to work, I took a wrong turn. And then I just decided to keep going.”

And now we have a heartline from Pu-Shan in China:

Hallo Dear Master, How lucky I am to have met You in this life! The world is illusory and transient. Only our God Nature exists forever, bringing eternal happiness and purity. Grateful to Master for teaching me to be enlightened! Once we are enlightened, we are forever enlightened and the essence of God’s nature exists forever. If I hadn’t met You, I don’t know how long I would have sojourned in ignorance. I pray that all the beings who are fortunate enough to watch Supreme Master TV could cherish the teachings of the living Master and adopt a vegan diet as early as possible and receive initiation and pursue spiritual practice thus to benefit all sentient beings by the inner Heavenly Light to achieve enlightenment and return to the new Heavenly realm that Master created for us. Thank Master for the dissemination of Dharma for many years and rescuing sentient beings from the suffering in reincarnations with Your great mercy. I wish Master best health and happiness! I wish that all Supreme Master TV team members are always lucky and happy! I wish all the disciples of Master and the believers speedy and complete enlightenment! Pu-Shan from China

Earnest Pu-Shan, It is so nice to receive your lines.

Supreme Master Ching Hai has a reply for you. “Luminous Pu-Shan, I am very pleased that you understand the immeasurable value of initiation, and that you wish the same awareness for others. I am touched to have such motivated and pure disciples. Wishing you quick spiritual growth and sincerely thanking you for your kind wishes. I pray that Divine mercy be upon you and the hard-working country of China.”
