We can create more “feel-good” or “happy” hormones like dopamine and serotonin in our body to enhance our overall well-being. Exercising is a good way, especially when we do it outside, since spending time in the sunlight boosts serotonin. It has been reported that just spending time in nature also has a similar effect and can help decrease stress hormones such as cortisol, norepinephrine, and adrenaline. Additionally, spending time with our loved ones and pet friends is like taking a natural antidepressant according to health experts. Try preparing a meal with a loved one, then consume it together to trigger the release of both dopamine and serotonin. Stay well!
