Since the outbreak of COVID-19 at the end of 2019, our lives have changed. More than one third of the world population has experienced various forms of lockdown, with some countries implementing the most restrictive mass quarantines in history. While these lockdowns limit our physical freedoms, we are afforded a rare chance to think, reflect, and search for answers. "If you cannot go outside, go inside" is becoming a popular slogan for many religious believers. Coming together through social media, many are praying to God for forgiveness, guidance, and the safety of humanity. Today, we will feature three songs performed by virtual choirs that encourage everyone to keep faith and hope during this trying time.
Our first song "Fix You" is written by British rock bank, Coldplay, and performed by Galite's French virtual choir, Chorale Virtuelle. “High up above or down below, When you are too in love to let it go, If you never try you'll never know Just what you're worth. Lights will guide you home, And ignite your bones, And I will try to fix you.”
The next song, "God So Loved the World," reminds us to have faith in God's eternal love for humanity, and follow Hiers Son, Lord Jesus Christ. “God so loved the world, That He gave His only begotten Son, That whoso believeth, believeth in Him Should not perish, But have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, But that the world through Him might be saved.”
Supreme Master Ching Hai once spoke on this topic in 1993, in Costa Rica: “So the best thing we can do to show our gratitude to Jesus, is just to thank Jesus. That is we try actually to live according to what Jesus' teaching is, and try to keep God's commandments. Because He said, ‘If you love me, keep my commandments.’ That's all He wanted. And keeping the commandments is not good for God, and not good for Jesus, it's good for us alone! God needs nothing from us, Jesus needs nothing from us. But God knows, Jesus knows that if we keep the commandments, our world would become better and we will be more benefited, more peaceful, more happy.”
